Angel
Angel joined Victor's Vision in 2016 when he was 14-years-old. He lives with his mom and brother younger brother. His parents are separated and his father lives in Tumbes, Ecuador with Angel's stepmother and works in construction. His mom finished secondary school and now she works cleaning houses or taking care of children. Angel's favorite class is math because he really likes numbers and the problems. He likes them because "when you’re given a tough problem and you have all these numbers to work with- it’s just really fun."
Angel shared, "My brother is always looking up to me. He’s always asking me about my dad, specifically. I sometimes talk to my dad on the phone, but it’s confusing for my little brother because he was really little when he left. My mom wants me to come here so I can learn more, she wants me to do well academically and become someone with my life. I want to be a chef one day. I need to go to university, but I don’t know which one yet. When my dad left, my mom and I would cook together a lot. This was really important to me and my family. But I want to take this even further. I want to create a new type of food and I think that’ll make my mom really proud. I am really proud to be part of Victor’s Vision because I get to explore new things here that I wouldn’t get to do otherwise. I have teachers here that support me a lot and I am really grateful for that."
Angel graduated high school and Victor's Vision in December 2018. In March 2019, he was admitted into La Universidad Catolica in Chulucanas to study business administration.
