Lesly
Lesly joined Victor's Vision in 2011 when she was just 9 years old, and was one of the first students in the program. She lives with her mom, dad, older sister, and younger brother - David, who is also part of Victor's Vision. Her sister studied at a technical school in Lima and now she works in Empresa de Uva. Her parents also studied until high school.
During her last year of high school in 2017, Lesly told us: "My main goal is to study medicine at a university. I’d like to study in Piura or in Lima. I think I need to leave Chulucanas for a bit because there are more resources in other places. I want to be a surgeon. I think I am ready for a lot of our exam, like math, but I need more practice with my language arts. That’s always been my weakness. I need a few more classes to be ready for university too- I’m still missing biology which is really important. Victor’s Vision has supported me a lot. I used to go to a public school where we didn’t learn that much. But once I came here, I was able to get into the parochial school that I go to now. Now I’m in the top 5 in my class at my school. If I get into a school away from here, I would want to live there, but I’m not sure my mom would be okay with that. We’ll see."
