Olisar
Olisar joined Victor's Vision in 2011 when he was just 9 years old, and was one of the program's first students. He successfully graduate from high school in December 2017. He lives with his mom, 2 brothers (one older and one younger) and little sister. His mom studied until 7th grade and his older brother is in technical school.
During his last year of high school in 2017, Olisar told us: "I am really focused on studying right now so that I can hopefully go to college next year. I’d like to go to UNP in Piura if I am lucky enough to get in. I want to study accounting or psychology. I’m thinking accounting because I like math and there’s a lot of numbers there. I’m thinking psychology because my friends and I know that there’s always someone who needs to talk to someone. It seems like a good career to be able to support people that way. I do know that my strongest area is in accounting. I feel prepared, I just need more time. I think I’m almost ready- I just want to make sure that I get to see what the test is like so I can practice a bit more. If I get into this school I think I would want to live in Piura. There’s just more resources there and I think I would do better. I’d still visit my family on the weekends. Victor’s Vision has helped me so much. It helps me with academics but also when I have problems at home. I’m a better student and better person because of the help I get here at Victor’s Vision."
In February 2019 after much hard work and preparation, Olisar was accepted to and enrolled in University. He is studying business administration at the Universidad Católica de Chulucanas. He said that he feels that entering university "has lifted some of the weight on his life now that I start my studies" and that it will serve as motivation and an example for his siblings.
