Thais
Thais joined Victor's Vision in 2012 when she was just 9-years-old. She lives with her mom, dad, brother and 3 sisters. Her older sister at a technical school and her brother is a mechanic. They are both living with her family and working in Chulucanas. Thais's parents both studied until 9th grade; her dad is a mechanic and her mom is at home.
During her graduation year in 2017, Thais told us: "My goal is to be a psychologist and then eventually be a fashion designer. In order to be a psychologist I know I need to study more. I need to go to university next year, and I want to go University de Piura. I would like to stay here because my family is here, but I also have some family (uncle) in Piura so I’ll probably end up living there. I think I’m almost ready for my entrance exams, but I know they will be very hard. I know I need to work really hard these next few months if I am going to be ready. I should really focus on math and biology because I think those are the most important for my degree specifically. My favorite part of this program is the teaching because I know my teachers really care about me. They really push me and challenge me and I learn a lot here. For that, I am very grateful."
Thais graduated from high school and Victor's Vision in December 2017 with Victor's Vision's inaugural class. In April 2018, she became one of the first Victor's Vision students to be admitted to university. Thais is enrolled at La Universidad Católica in Chulucanas and is studying business administration.
