Our Victor's Vision team is seeking a passionate and organized Event Intern to support our premier fundraising event of 2019. The Event Intern position is designed for students to gain operations and event-planning experience as the lead intern in planning Victor’s Vision's largest annual fundraiser, Viva la Visión. The internship timeline begins in early Spring 2019 and culminates at the event itself in September 2019. The role is ideal for students studying at universities in Philadelphia or the surrounding area with self-initiative and a passion for education and/or supporting youth in developing countries. The Event Intern is a volunteer position; you will work directly with the Event Coordinator and will collaborate within our network.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in seeking out event venues and evaluate candidate venues through in-person visits in Philadelphia.
- Contact local and national businesses to secure raffle and auction prizes.
- Solicit corporate sponsorships of the event.
- Coordinate with restaurant and beverage partners.
- If desired, assist with design of promotional materials and décor.
- Leverage your own networks to bring promotion and attendees to the event.
- Bring your own creativity and ideas to the table!
Qualifications:
- Previous event planning or party organization experience.
- Previous experience hosting fundraising or outreach events.
- Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
- Self-initiative is highly desired; self-accountability is a must.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
- Flexibility and ability to set, manage and meet expectations.
- Friendliness and willingness to meet new people.
- A passion for education and youth, and a desire to work within a mission-driven organization.
